In July, Bentley Motors announced its all-new partnership with The Macallan, renowned across the globe for its extraordinary single malt whiskies. But much more than a partnership of shared values in striving for perfection in every detail, this new agreement is also designed to share learnings in innovating sustainably. Jack Barclay Bentley recently became the first retailer to lend its support to the new partnership with an exclusive event for customers.
Hosted at The Rosewood Hotel, London, guests were greeted by one vision of Bentley’s future of sustainability – the Bentayga Hybrid. Capable of travelling 25 miles on purely electric power, it’s the first step towards the entire Bentley range being electrified by 2023, and the first fully electric Bentley by 2025.
It’s also the first, and most obvious, manifestation of the new partnership between these iconic brands. Following the partnership announcement with Bentley Motors, The Macallan will take delivery of two hybrid Bentleys this year, and is committed to having a fully electric passenger vehicle fleet on The Macallan Estate by 2025.
As the evening progressed, guests were treated to a taste of The Macallan’s extraordinary attention to detail in whisky production. Up to 80% of the flavor is determined by its sherry seasoned casks, aged carefully and meticulously over the course of many years. Two cocktails with The Macallan whisky were available: one using grape juice and red verjus and the other with saffron honey and a dash of walnut bitters.
On-hand to reveal more about the partnership and why it’s important to both brands were Brett Garratt from Jack Barclay Bentley, Ellie Ross from Bentley Motors and David Sinclair from The Macallan. They revealed a commitment to focusing on the brands’ shared journey to carbon neutrality, innovative research into the sourcing of sustainable materials, and teamwork on finding and sharing sustainable, local suppliers.
Additionally, the partnership will deliver a wide range of projects over the coming years, including jointly-developed products from both The Macallan and Bentley, curated customer experiences and more collaborative events just like this one.
