Ferrari Power – On course for F1 Stardom in 2015

The results from Jerez are in and Ferrari should be rightly proud, as their stunning new F1 engines have topped the leader-board every single day.
Scuderia Ferrari is one of the longest standing teams to compete in the post-war World Championships, which became Formula One as we know it today. Their heritage and trophy cabinet is testament to the energy, skill, commitment and dedication of the Ferrari designers and engineers who power their skilled drivers to F1 glory. Famous names such as Juan Manuel Fangio, Niki Lauda, Nigel Mansell, Rubens Barrichello, Kimi Räikkönen and of course, the man who gave Ferrari 5 consecutive series trophies, Michael Schumacher, will forever be associated with their marque.
Ferrari at Jerez 2015
As pre-season testing ends at the Spanish International Circuit in Jerez, Ferrari seem well placed for more for glory in 2015. Four times F1 Champion Sebastian Vettel, who joined Ferrari for the 2015 season, produced an awe-inspiring performance, seizing the fastest lap crown on both of the first 2 test days. While team mate and previous F1 Champion, Kimi Räikkönen was pipped at the post into 2nd place by just ⅟10th of a second by another Ferrari powered car on Day 3, then dominated Day 4 to not only produce the fastest lap time that day, but the fastest lap time of the Jerez test-series.
Ferrari F1 2015

Sebastian Vettel has become one of the most successful F1 Drivers of all time, having won the series four time in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. During the 2013 season he matched another of Ferrari’s legendary drivers, Michael Schumacher, sharing the crown for the most wins in a single season, having found himself on the top of the podium a staggering 13 times. Schumacher achieved this accolade with Ferrari in 2004.
Kimi Räikkönen, has also known glory wearing Ferrari colours having won the Driver’s Championship Trophy in 2007. Räikkönen, supported by his team mate Felipe Massa, also helped Ferrari to win the Constructor’s Championship in 2008.
Although not always on the podium in the past 7 years, Ferrari have never been out of contention, producing stunning individual race victories. Now, with a team this strong and test scores this fast,  Ferrari are looking very strong and may do well to dust off a bit more space in their trophy cabinet. 2015 could well be their year once again.
The Sauber team where Räikkönen and Vettel cut their F1 teeth is also proving to be ‘hot’, with Sauber continuing with Ferrari to power their F1 team this season. As another of the oldest, yet less well known F1 teams, Sauber seem to be acquiring a habit of identifying the stars of the future and training them up. Their secret weapon this year is a young rookie named Felipe Nasr. Last year he was Williams’ official test driver. This year he has joined Sauber and will be making his F1 debut in 2015 season.
Sauber seems to have made a good choice in continuing with running Ferrari engines this year and the difference shows. Marcus Ericsson gave Sauber the second best lap time twice on Day 1 and 4 while Felipe Nasr placed 2nd behind Vettel on Day 2, and passed Kimi Räikkönen in his Ferrari to claim the fasted lap time on Day 3.
History has shown us that it’s difficult to accrue anything really tangible from these sessions but after the dominance of Scuderia Ferrari over the course of the Jerez test days, along with the Ferrari powered Sauber, supporters are sure to be getting very excited about the season to come.
