H.R. Owen Clients Aim for Ferrari Challenge Glory

Three of our clients will be racing under the H.R. Owen team banner in the Ferrari Challenge this season and aiming for success in their respective championships. This year the car used will be the Ferrari 488 Challenge, the first turbocharged car created for the one-make series.

Experienced Belgian driver Laurent de Meeus is racing in the Coppa Shell Amateur series, while Chris Froggatt and John Sawbridge will be contesting the Trofeo Pirelli Amateur series. Last year Chris was fighting for the championship with three wins, four fastest laps and ten podiums before eventually finishing a creditable third, so he’s among the favourites for the championship this season.

The Ferrari Challenge is described as the widest-ranging and most sought-after one-make series in the world, with drivers racing their 488 Challenges at iconic circuits throughout Europe. The series was established in 1993 and the events are FIA approved, thus ensuring very high safety standards and excellent organization.

If you’re planning on a trip to the Silverstone (27-29 April) or Spa (11-13 May) rounds with one of our Passione Ferrari packages (see separate news stories) make sure you seek out the H.R. Owen teams in the paddock and cheer them on.
