The unveiling took place at the prestigious Monterey Car Week in Carmel, California, home of the fabulous and famous including Hollywood star Clint Eastwood.
This will be the very first open-top Lamborghini to bear the name Superveloce which is widely considered to be “the purest, most sports-oriented” Lamborghini ever, according to Stephan Winkelman, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini.
“The Roadster version [of the Aventador] represents our commitment to satisfying our passionate clients with immensely emotional driving dynamics combined with an extraordinary open air experience,’’ he continued.

Only a limited number of the new roadster – 500 worldwide – will be released.
The Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce offers outstanding performance with a 6.5-liter V12 engine producing 750 HP at 8,400 rpm and 509 lb-ft of torque. At a dry weight of 3,472 pounds (thanks to two-piece carbon-fibre hardtop), the 750-4 is 110 lbs lighter than the 700-4 Roadster and boasts a power-to-weight ratio of 4,6 lb/hp.
The acceleration resulting from such sheer power and prowess leads to a 0-62 mph jump in just 2.9 seconds with a top speed of more than 217 mph.

Lamborghini’s intelligently engineered 7-speed ISR transmission transfers the engine’s power to all four wheels simultaneously through a Haldex Generation IV 4WD system and an electrifying gear shift experience.
By taking advantage of Magneto Rheological Suspension, a pushrod damping system and Lamborghini Dynamic Steering (LDS), the Aventador SV Roadster provides passengers with an incomparably smooth ride.
Topping it all off, the Superveloce Roadster comes with a rear power window to let the roaring sound of the V12 engine fill the cabin with spine-tingling tones as the car races down the road.
