On Friday, May 8th some of H.R. Owen’s clients enjoyed a rare opportunity to spend the day racing around the famed Millbrook testing ground. For those unfamiliar, Millbrook has played host to countless episodes of BBC’s Top Gear and owns a wide range of test tracks.
Traditionally prohibited to the public both physically and visually – the facility is hidden from view by belts of trees – Millbrook was made available for H.R. Owen and its guests for a Lamborghini Huracán test drive.
Upon arrival, guests enjoyed a warm-welcome from the Lamborghini hostesses before being shuttled to the hospitality area within the circuit itself. Catered breakfast and lunch were provided to all in attendance and guests enjoyed general refreshments throughout the day.
Accompanied by one of H.R. Owen’s professional instructors, drivers pushed the Huracán to its limits across three different tracks:
- The Alpine Route – A three-sectioned track containing progressively steeper gradients and tighter corners, most-famous for the “ski-jump” used in the 2006 film Casino Royale.
- The High-Speed Bowl – A two mile (3.2 km) circular-banked circuit used for higher speed testing
- The Mile Straight – A one mile (1.6 km) straightaway for experiencing pure acceleration and top-end speed
Each of the guest drivers enjoyed more than 1 hour behind the wheel; plenty of time to take the Huracán to the automotive edge!
Powered by a 5.2L, V10 engine, the Huracán puts out 602 horsepower on its way to a top speed of over 325 km/h. Its aerodynamically designed body allow the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in as little as 3.2 seconds and 0 to 200 km/h in 9.9 seconds. Best of all, the car features a magnetically controlled suspension system giving the Huracán an uncompromisingly smooth ride despite its sports-car heritage.
