Maserati Ermenegildo Zegna Interior Impresses

Tuesday, 3rd March 2015 – As if a Maserati needed any additional flair to spice up its notoriously chic design, the famous Italian carmaker has formed a partnership with one of Italy’s more prestigious design houses to create the Maserati Ermenegildo Zegna Interior.

Though dramatically different in every aspect of industry, both Zegna and Maserati have a longstanding commitment to providing their clientele with world-class, high-end finished products. Though their materials and methods are not the same, the history and pageantry behind these two brands allows them to form a stylistic synthesis that expertly blends design, technology and character.
All Maserati Ermenegildo Zegna Interiors will be designed around a two-colour, two-material concept. The Zegna interior features Poltrona Frau leather paired with Zegna Mulberry Silk inserts on everything from the seats to the door panels. According to a company press release, the Maserati Ermenegildo Zegna Interior will come in three colour schemes (Black/ Anthracite, Red/ Anthracite and Natural/ Anthracite).
The silk, an already sophisticated material that can lean on thousands of years of prestigious history, is enhanced by hand-stitched macro-chevron. The door panel features additional swaths of matching salt-pepper silk accented by an alternating rib embroidery pattern.
As previously mentioned, the bulk of the seating is comprised of extra fine grain Poltrona Frau leather with contrasting, light grey stitching. This is all matched to a central silk insert on the central seat and backrest area.
On the door panels, the central parts are covered with Zegna silk and embellished by a diagonal roll pattern, with ton-sur-ton ornamental stitching and alternating rib embroideries.

This very same fabric is used to adorn the car’s roof lining and sunshades, with the sunshades specifically carrying the official tagline and logo “Ermenegildo Zegna Exclusively for Maserati”. The stitched signatures don’t stop there though; the headrests feature an embroidered version of Maserati’s famous Trident emblem.
The Maserati Ermenegildo Zegna Interior will be available in the Autumn of 2015 for vehicles in the Quattroporte and Ghibli ranges.
