Aston Martin Reading and Cheltenham hosted an exclusive display of the new Vantage Roadster, giving customers a glimpse at Aston Martin’s newest soft-top sports car. Revealed only a matter of days before, Aston Martin Reading and Cheltenham customers were among the first in the world to see the newcomer in the metal.Visitors were greeted by the sleek new Roadster, sitting alongside the Vantage Coupé making the key visual differences all the more apparent. To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Vantage nameplate, the Roadster comes equipped optionally with a new ‘vane’ grille, inspired by the DB10. At the same time, the new grille becomes available on the hardtop Vantage.
Powered by the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine as the Coupé, the Roadster accelerates to 62mph in 3.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 190mph with the roof raised. Weight is only up 60kg over the Coupé thanks to chassis revisions, an optimised exterior and a new, lighter Z-fold roof mechanism which allows the driver to raise the roof in 6.8 seconds. That makes it one of the fastest automatic automotive convertible systems – perfect in case the British weather doesn’t hold out.
The Aston Martin Vantage Roadster starts from £126,950 with customer deliveries starting in Q2 2020.
