Twenty Aston Martin Cheltenham and Bentley Cheltenham customers recently enjoyed the rare opportunity to view Ten Tenths Racing, the private car collection of legendary Pink Floyd drummer, Nick Mason.
The visit began with a noon lunch at the Cotswolds Highest Tower, Broadway Tower. From there, the lucky convoy travelled along an exhilarating route to the private location of Ten Tenths Racing.
Nick’s Ten Tenths Racing collection is regularly used on road and in competition, appearing at events from London to Brighton to the Le Mans Classic. Normally the collection is kept strictly private, but a limited number of H.R. Owen customers had the privilege of visiting this truly world-class collection. Our host, Nick’s colleague Mike Hallows, treated the guests to a guided, hour and a half-long tour.
Nick Mason has been collecting cars – including the Bentley 4.5 Litre, Maserati Birdcage and Ferrari 250 GTO –since the heyday of Pink Floyd and is a true connoisseur of the industry. In short, he’s our kind of car guy.
Best of all?—Every single one of Nick’s cars has either raced, currently races or will race in the future.
Stirling Moss said it best when he described Nick Mason’s private car collection and Ten Tenths as being “that rare, if ever, fleeting moment when a racing driver and his car are at their ultimate limit.”
We’ve got to give credit where credit’s due.
