Regal Rolls-Royce Wraith at the Goodwood Festival of Speed

The hush of silence enveloping the crowd could hardly mask the electricity of its anticipation.
In defence of those in attendance, a Rolls-Royce Wraith at the Goodwood Festival of Speed is always a sight to behold.
As the meticulously engineered British apparition descended from the super-car paddock and up towards its starting position for the world-famous Hill Climb, its’ Ensign Red and Jubilee Silver coachwork glistened in the sun—an indicator of the fireworks to come.

One of the weekend’s most highly anticipated runnings, the masses were at capacity all along the course to witness the Rolls-Royce Wraith – under the direction of driving legend Joerg Weidnger — disappear up the hill in heavy clouds of white smoke from the racing rear tyres.
The most powerful Rolls-Royce in the proud history of the legendary carmaker, the Wraith is 624 BHP of muscular brawn—it’s no wonder the captivating car took on the famous course with the greatest of ease.
Even in the face of tumultuous turns and speeds far beyond 140 mph, the Wraith showed little to no strain under the masterful hand of Weidnger.
Crossing the finish at just under 110 MPH, the worlds’ most luxurious Gran Turismo ran the 1.16-mile course in 57.21 seconds—faster than the Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale Centennial Edition (59.00), the Bentley Continental GT (60.65), the Maserati GranCabrio MC (60.66) and the Porsche 918 Spyder ‘Weissach’ (61.37).
The pace and poise of the Wraith was directly responsible for the sheer volume of dropped-jaws littering the audience.
