LONDON – 6/5/2015—Today marks the opening of London Craft Week (6-10 May), a new, annual event embracing the very best in British ingenuity, design and craftsmanship. The creators of the event hope to offer average Londoners the rare opportunity to view crafts as more than just finished objects by introducing them to the artisans and artisanal skills behind the goods themselves.
To help Londoners on this journey and kick the celebration off, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars London has invited the public to come visit their London Showroom, located at Berkeley Square between the hours of 10.00 and 17.00 on Thursday, the 7th of May.
At the Showroom, auto-aficionados and anyone else who cares to stop-by will be able to observe a team of veteran craftspeople work their magic on the wood and leather that makes riding in a Rolls-Royce such a memorable experience.
Guests to the showroom will also have a chance to steal a behind-the-scenes look at Rolls-Royce’s famous Starlight Headliner, which transforms an ordinary car ceiling into a sparking, starry sky through the clever use of 1,340 fibre-optic lamps hand-woven into the roof liner.
Rolls-Royce is famous for its philosophy of taking “the best that exists and mak[ing] it better.” But taking the best and making it better would be impossible without a company-wide commitment to luxury performance—a commitment that forms the very backbone of Rolls-Royce craftsmanship.
