Bentley’s oldest retailer, Jack Barclay, has kicked off its partnership with the Longines Global Champions Tour of London 2019 in style, bringing together one of the competitions star riders, Scott Brash MBE, with its bespoke Bentley Bentayga ‘The Sportsman’. Specially designed in collaboration with Huntsman Savile Row, ‘The Sportsman’ is available exclusively through Jack Barclay Bentley.
Bought up in Peebles, Scotland, Brash has risen to the highest level of show jumping, with a host of impressive achievements including a gold medal at the 2012 London Olympic Games, winning both the 2013 and 2014 Longines Global Champions Tour series, as well as holding the title for the most number of LGCT Grand Prix wins ever achieved (10 in total, including locations such as Miami Beach, Mexico City, Cannes, London and Monaco to name a few). In 2013 New Year Honours, Queen Elizabeth appointed Brash a Member of the Order of the British Empire, for his services to equestrianism.
Its only right then, that an accomplished athlete like Brash should meet ‘The Sportsman’ Bentayga, whilst spending a warm day at home, exercising another prolific winner ‘Hello Forever’, who notably won the London leg of LGCT in 2017. The car, commissioned by Jack Barclay Bentley, in partnership with Huntsman Savile Row, was the perfect match for this esteemed British athlete. ‘The Sportsman’ features distinctive Peck 62 tweed throughout the interior, inspired by an original Gregory Peck coat from the Huntsman archives. In additon, it incorporates an exclusive Mulliner wooden chess board in the rear seat rest, complete with a drawer trimmed in Huntsman fabric, which houses the chess pieces.
‘The Sportsman’ is designed to provide a relaxed countryside pursuit feel, perfect for a day at the show jumping or the polo, including Imperial Blue leather and Liquid Amber veneer inserts, paired with a vibrant Candy Red exterior. Anyone who purchases a Huntsman addition Bentayga will receive a Huntsman bespoke jacket that will be delivered with the car and can selected from a variety of cloths and tweeds for their garment. ‘The Sportsman’ is available alongside ‘The Businessmen’, with both exlcusively available from H.R. Owen’s Jack Barclay Bentley showroom.
Scott Brash MBE said: “As a proud Scot it’s nice to see this amazing Huntsman tweed throughout the interior; its a definite reminder of Scottish tartan for me! It’s been a fantastic opportunity to see this very special Bentley Bentayga; a little different to the horsepower i’m normally used to, but hugely powerful and extremely luxurious. I’m looking forward to seeing the full Bentley line-up at the LGCT in London!”
