On Tuesday 30th May, customers and guests at Aston Martin Reading were treated to a truly special sight – the unveiling of the highly anticipated Aston Martin DB12. The launch of the DB12 marks a significant epoch in Aston Martin’s illustrious history, as it removes the silk cover from the world’s first-ever ‘super-tourer’.
Customers and guests joined the H.R. Owen Aston Martin team at our Reading showroom to get an enviable first look at the all-new DB12. Alongside the grand unveiling of Aston Martin’s latest triumph, guests enjoyed catering from Lush by Tom Kerridge, one of the UK’s most renowned Michelin-starred chefs.
Coinciding with the brand’s 110th anniversary and 75 years of the iconic ‘David Brown’ nameplate, the evening celebrated the brand’s illustrious history and rich heritage, while giving guests a preview of the ambitious future that the DB12 epitomises.
The new ‘super-tourer’, replacing the celebrated DB11, elevates the successes of its predecessor. Aston Martin’s product experts were on hand to reveal full details of the car’s ultra-responsive twin-turbocharged V8. The fully reworked engine now delivers increased levels of power, torque, and performance, capable of 0-62mph in a staggering 3.6 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 202mph.
The presence of the DB12’s performance is mirrored in its aggressive styling. Guests were able to peruse the car from every possible angle and gain a full appreciation of the car’s prominent aerodynamic features. It also sports a larger front grille, which enhances its commanding exterior aesthetic, further boosted by new ultra-advanced LED Matrix technology headlights. Notably, the DB12 is the first production model to bare the latest version of the brand’s iconic wings badge.
The boldness of the DB12 extends into its interior, with levels of luxury and technology taken to new heights for an Aston Martin. In-car connectivity is elevated thanks to the implementation of a state-of-the-art 12.5-inch touchscreen powered by the brand’s proprietary software. With seamless clarity and intuitive operation, the DB12’s interior offers drivers and passengers a wonderfully immersive experience, that blends functionality with sporting excitement.
