New Bugatti Tourbillon Unveiled

A new era dawns as Bugatti presents, the 1,800hp, V16-engined Tourbillon.

The name Tourbillon perfectly encapsulates the next-generation hyper sports car’s spellbinding character. A French word, and a subtle reference to Bugatti’s French heritage and home in Molsheim, the tourbillon is a watchmaking invention of a Swiss-born genius living in France in 1801. A creation without compare, it is both complex and beautiful, helping to counteract the effects of gravity on a watch to ensure more consistent time-keeping. And over 200 years later it is still revered as the pinnacle of watchmaking.

“The development of the Bugatti Tourbillon was guided at every step by the 115 years of Bugatti history and the words of Ettore Bugatti himself, explains Bugatti CEO Mate Rimac. “Ettore’s mantras ‘if comparable it is no longer Bugatti’ and ‘nothing is too beautiful’ were a guiding path for me personally, as well as the design and engineering teams looking to create the next exciting era in the Bugatti hyper sports car story.”

The Bugatti Tourbillon is powered by an all-new 8.3-litre naturally aspirated V16 engine paired with a front e-Axle with two electric motors and one electric motor mounted at the rear axle. In total, the Tourbillon produces 1,800 hp with 1,000 from the combustion engine itself and 800 hp from the electric motors.

The car’s completely new chassis integrates multi-link suspension front and rear, forged from aluminium, moving on from the double wishbone steel construction found in the Bugatti Chiron. The rear also features an AI-developed 3D-printed hollow air foil arm to enhance vehicle dynamics and aerodynamic performance.

The Bugatti Tourbillon now enters its testing phase, with prototypes already on the road in anticipation for customer deliveries in 2026. A total of 250 examples will be built.

Mate Rimac has unveiled his own personal Nevara to the world.

As the man that knows the Nevera the best he had a very clear vision of the car he wanted to own, taking inspiration from Croatia and the team of people that help to make every car so special he and the team designed something truly unique.

The in-house Color and Trim team had proposed several bespoke liveries and dual-tone finishes – just as they would with every bespoke customer – but Mate decided stayed true to his initial vision: full carbon body tinted in red – complete with Nevera badging bespoke in red anodization – with accents in natural bare carbon fiber. He wanted to show this car’s natural materials in all their beauty.

Much more than simply an unpainted Nevera body, the Level 3 Carbon finish is a completely bespoke creation. The fibers must flow in a very specific direction across the body panels, matching the geometry of the car. And this flow must continue across a number of complex surfaces and neighboring panels to create an unbroken flow of carbon fiber, millimeter perfect in its placement. The panels must be produced and cut in a very specific way to achieve this finish. The process of clear-coating this intricate artwork is quite meticulous; filling any subtle holes in the material with clearcoat can lead it to crack, and the panel will need to be scrapped and the whole process begun anew.

Croatian flags are hand-painted onto the side mirrors and there’s a custom-designed lightning motif hidden under the rear spoiler in homage to the Mediterranean storms off the coast of Croatia that gave Nevera its name. Mate is famously extremely proud of the Rimac Group’s home in Croatia, even refusing to relocate the business within its difficult first years despite the offer of investment.
