Back in the 1920s and 30s, the original Bentley Boys were almost as famous for their legendary parties as they were for their five Le Mans wins in just eight years. Today, at H.R. Owen Bentley, that spirit of celebration of the Bentley brand and the driving adventures of all of our customers is very much kept alive. And what better time to revel in it than when the festive season is upon us once again!
Fittingly, the honour of getting the party started fell to Jack Barclay – the world’s oldest Bentley dealer – on December 6th. And, of course, it wouldn’t be Christmas without a pantomime, which is why we hosted a production of Beauty and the Beast by the acclaimed British Pantomimes downstairs in the ionic, period-finish lower showroom.
Two performances of the pantomime were held. The first took place in the afternoon for local school children, and then it was the adults’ turn in the evening. All enjoyed boisterous good fun, and we are sure that the original Bentley Boys, many of whom lived a few minutes walk from Berkeley Square in Mayfair, would have thoroughly approved.
Bentley Surrey picked up the baton the following day, hosting customers, guests, and their children at a family-friendly festival event. The showroom was transformed into a Christmas market with local craft traders displaying their wares, while face painting and gingerbread making kept the children entertained. In addition, a local choir and festive food and drinks ensured everyone got in the Christmas spirit.
Then, with just eleven sleeps to go to the big day, Bentley Hatfield hosted a cocktail evening, where guests also enjoyed a performance by internationally acclaimed jazz singer Nick Pritchard and chocolate tasting courtesy of Yvette’s Chocolates. The first big event since the launch of the Hatfield showroom was an especially memorable evening for the Bentley team as it allowed us to welcome customers to our new home again.
We’d like to say a huge thank you for the charitable donations made by our valued customers, which were personally delivered to Cherry Trees and Isabel Hospice, just in time for Christmas Day.
To all of our Bentley customers, especially those unable to join us at any of the celebrations, we wish you a wonderful and restful holiday period and a happy and prosperous New Year.
