Legendary footballer and fashion icon David Beckham has applied his renowned sense of style to an exclusive range of custom-built Maserati models. Beckham stepped up to the spot for the first in a new series dubbed ‘Fuoriserie Essentials.’ These rarefied collections of Maserati cars, curated by select tastemakers and friends of the marque – have been created to inspire drivers to express their own bespoke vision of the ultimate Italian luxury sports car.
With his own inspiration stemming from a fascination with classic Maserati cars and decades at the forefront of sartorial life, Beckham expressed his Fuoriserie DB Essentials collection through two distinctive car configurations. Demonstrating a contemporary re-interpretation of some of the Trident’s most timeless icons, both vehicles pay homage to the inimitable style for which Beckham and Maserati are known.
Captivated by the 1967 Maserati Ghibli coupé, Beckham selected a ‘Night Interaction’ blue for the exterior of his first DB Essentials design, paired with a tan shade for the leather interior. For his second configuration, the former 59-time England captain paid tribute to the 1986 Maserati Quattroporte Royale, only produced in 51 units, choosing a dark green exterior of ‘Verde Royale’ with warm brown leather upholstery for the cabin.
An exclusive metal plate celebrating the collaboration between Maserati and David Beckham is applied to the central tunnel between the front seats or between the two headrests.
“Fuoriserie translates as ‘custom-built’ in Italian, and our Trident’s customization program is conceived to create singular experiences for our clients,” explains Klaus Busse, Head of Design at Maserati. “Our wish here is for them to express their personality and passion by creating their very own Maserati. Just like David, everyone can choose from a wide range of personalization features from our Fuoriserie Corse collection, inspired by Maserati’s glorious racing heritage, and from our Fuoriserie Futura collection, dedicated to lovers of technology and new materials.”
Both Fuoriserie DB Essentials configurations are now available upon request on both the MC20 super sports car, combining performance, sportiness, and luxury with a racing soul, and the new ‘everyday exceptional’ Grecale SUV, striking a perfect balance between versatility, elegance, and performance.
